MINI BIOGRAPHY
Born in Westminster, London, Daisy is the youngest of three sisters
Initially wanted to become a Zoologist
Sent to boarding school, due to a disruptive childhood
She had a talent for acting, dancing and music so Tring Park for the Performing Arts was attended after winning a scholarship, and attended between the ages of 9 and 18
Being able to concentrate better on her studies she was recognised by her class mates and teachers
After a short spell at the University of London, studying Classical Civilisation, she was scouted after some small theatre parts, making some short film appearances
Her big break into TV came in 2013 with Casualty
Her first full length role was in Silent Witness later in the year
She initially missed the beginning of the first round of casting for Star Wars, her representative did not consider her for the film
She was prompted by Kika to apply and was admitted into the end of the second round of casting, where she continued and was accepted
It was towards the end of November 2013 when she was confirmed in the cast, but at the time still did not know which character she would be portraying
With Star Wars not commencing filming until 2014 Daisy then completed two more short films
Sadly due to a scheduling oversight and overlap her appearance in The Inbetweeners 2 could not be completed, and so her character was completely cut from the film
At the same time Daisy moved representation, aligning her better to one more experienced with Disney, signing with CAA for 3 years to September 2016
Early in March 2014 Daisy discovered she was to play one of the lead roles in Star Wars
Initially after receiving the script she was shocked, but was convinced by the Lucasfilm team she was the perfect actor for the role
Filming ended in late 2014
Sadly due to her inexperience there was a short gap in her career, as most actors would schedule films continuously where possible
However, Daisy accepted a voiceover role for an animated film, Only Yesterday
She also accepted a narration role for a documentary, The Eagle Huntress, and later increased her interest to become Executive Producer
Due to these three roles she was also accepted to present at the 88th Academy Awards (Oscars) early the next year
Towards the middle and end of 2015 Daisy was highly active in promoting the new Star Wars film
This was ideal due to her lack of experience in this field, and was slowly built up to the two week run of world wide Premieres in December 2015
At the same time she was consulted over the use of both a stunt double and body double for the next Star Wars film
Hannah Levitt-Collins was Daisy’s body double in 2014, and helped the crew to lighten Daisy’s workload during filming
She agreed to perform as many of the stunts as possible that were planned
As a result she began training in August 2015, which was ideal due to her availability and lack of any other work, and also removed the need for a body double
Filming of the next Star Wars film started early in 2016 and was well underway by March
However, there was a short break at the end of February for the Olivia Awards and a few days later the Oscars
Daisy also recorded her first music song, At The Ballet, with Barbra Streisand and Anne Hathaway between these two events
She was originally being interviewed for a role in the film Gypsy, but after being asked if she could sing was quickly tested for this song and accepted
With short notice Daisy was advised she had won an MTV Award in April
It was also the weekend of her birthday so made yet another very short trip to Los Angeles
With greater experience of filming schedules Daisy has also been accepted for one film and is currently considering one further film, between the current Star Wars film (2017) and the next one (2019)
At the end of July 2016 Daisy travelled to Los Angeles collected her final award for Star Wars Episode 7, the Teen Choice Awards Breakout Star
She also signed a new 3 year contract with CAA, extending this to September 2019
At the same time she also signed a new contract with Lionsgate for four films, the first of which is a trilogy
The contracts for the other two films were still not complete
The contract with Disney was also revised, this removed the option for a fourth film
and for any promotional appearances after December 2019
The end of 2016 saw the start
of filming of Murder On The Orient Express
2017 started with Daisy attending two
voice recording sessions for Peter Rabbit
This was followed by the completion of
filming of Murder On The Orient Express
A few weeks later this was followed by the
filming for Ophelia
The second half of 2017 saw the start of filming for the first
Chaos Walking film
The end of filming was delayed slightly due to an overlap with
the commencement of the promotion for the second Star Wars film
Daisy swapped financial
representation during November, which required her attendance in London, this all
resulted in Daisy flying between Canada and London three times in one week
At the
same time her publicist, Heidi Polata, advised her she would be resigning from 42
West and transferring to Narrative PR
These three issues caused attendance for one
Star Wars promotional event to be cancelled the following month
The start of 2018
saw several contracts being reviewed, all were in place during February
